Do you love to knit/crochet/loom, do you have odds and ends of wool that you have no use for....WELL...Ontario Pet Loss (OPL) is seeking people to knit /Crochet blankets. These lovely blankets/afghans will provide comfort to the homeless and their pets during the cold season.
For many people experiencing homelessness, a pet can be more than just a companion — they are family, protectors, and a source of unconditional love. In a life marked by uncertainty, pets offer a constant presence, emotional support, and even a reason to keep going.
While the challenges of living on the streets are immense, those with pets often put their animals’ needs above their own, ensuring they are fed, sheltered, and cared for. Some may forgo access to shelters or services that do not allow animals, highlighting the strength of the human-animal bond.
At OPL we are stepping up to help, providing pet food and essentials like blankets and leashes. Supporting both the individual and their animal companion is not only compassionate — it’s essential.
Recognizing and respecting this bond can help guide more inclusive services, and remind us that love, loyalty, and connection exist in all walks of life — even on the streets.
Donate a pair of socks, scarf, mitts and hat and OPL (Ontario Pet Loss)
will add a bag of dog food/treats and blanket to aid in homeless and their pet during the cold season.
